Many counties along the western seaboard received double the normal rainfall amounts in the seven days to 23 January.

Claremorris in Co Mayo received the most rain, with 73.1mm falling in the seven-day period – more than two and a half times the regular rainfall for this time of year.
In Gurteen, Co Tipperary, 53.8mm of rain fell, equating to 255% of the average rainfall for this time of year.
Some 47.8mm of rain fell in Ballyhaise, Co Cavan, which was 230% of the average rainfall.
