A Massey Ferguson 185 and a McHale bale splitter which were stolen last week have been recovered.

Linda Wedlock said the tractor and bale splitter were stolen from the farmyard overnight on Friday 15 January.

Wedlock, whose father owns the tractor, told the Irish Farmers Journal that the tractor and bale splitter were found only 10 minutes from their home, with no damage on either machine.

“It’s my father’s tractor. He has it 38 or 39 years.

"Only for the reaction to the Facebook post, it might not have been found,” she said.

The gardaí are investigating it now, she said.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told the Irish Farmers Journal: “Gardaí responded to reports of a missing vehicle in Bailieboro, Co Cavan, on the afternoon of 16 January 2021.

“The vehicle was later located in an intact and undamaged condition. Investigations are ongoing at this time.”
