Terra NutriTECH, the Kildare-based company formerly known as Terra Liquid Minerals, will launch its new mineral dosing system called the Opis Controller at the 2018 Ploughing Championships in Screggan, Co Offaly.

Terra mineral dosing systems are connected to the existing water infrastructure on farms, which allow the farmer to accurately regulate the dosage of important minerals such as magnesium, to animals via the water system. Farmers can adjust the mineral dosage depending on the number of animals on the farm or the amount of water being consumed.

Terra NutriTECH was named the overall winner at the 2018 National Enterprise Awards.

The company, which has recently rebranded as Terra NutriTECH, says the new Opis Controller being launched at the Ploughing will allow the farmer to remotely monitor their mineral dosing system via real-time data on their smartphone or tablet.

The new controller will also allow farmers to adjust dosage settings remotely from their phone or tablet without any need to physically visit the farm.

“The new Opis Controller will allow for accurate affordable and automated dosing of minerals. By using the latest technology, we can support the farmer in maximising herd health while reducing labour significantly,” said Padraig Hennessy, chief executive of Terra NutriTECH.
