Expanding team at Future Grass Technology Ltd
Adrian Lyons has joined Future Grass Technolog?y in Carlow. Adrian will be responsible for a share of the domestic market and European sales excluding the UK. Adrian has previously worked for Tanco engineering Ltd. John Molton has also joined from Hi-Spec. John has taken the role of UK sales manager and will be based in the UK. The company was founded by Jim Barron in 2008 and their debut product was the Grass Tech Grazer. The growth in the company may reflect the expansion of dairy herds in Ireland and across Europe.
Robert Walker appointed as CEO at Keenan
Robert Walker has been appointed CEO of Keenan following Alltech’s acquisition of the Carlow-based manufacturer.
Walker has been with Alltech for over 10 years, initially starting with the company as a sales manager in Ireland. He later served as the regional director of Italy and the Balkans. He also served as the general manager of Alltech Crop Science. Prior to Alltech, he owned and managed his own hydroponic greenhouse business in South Africa, producing mostly tomatoes and flowers for the export market. Walker studied horticulture at the University of Natal in South Africa and completed his post-graduate studies in business management. Robert will oversee Keenan, with some of the old management team and fresh faces introduced by the new owner.
John Deere appoints new MD for the UK and Ireland
Jonathan Henry has been appointed as managing director of John Deere Limited in the UK and Ireland. He takes over the role on 1 July 2016 from Antony Scott, who has elected to retire after 40 years with the company.
Jonathan Henry joined John Deere Limited as a management trainee in July 1993. From late 1993 he worked as an area manager product support (AMPS) in southwest England, and from 1997 to 2001 as a territory manager in the north of England and borders of Scotland.
From early 2009, Jonathan held various product marketing roles in Germany and the US. Since May 2015, he has been planning director for Deere’s global crop harvesting business.
Antony Scott was appointed managing director of John Deere Limited in the UK and Ireland in July 2014, succeeding Richard Johnson. He joined the company in December 1975. Antony served at Langar in positions including territory manager, division credit manager, parts and wholegoods manager, distribution manager and division sales manager. From 2011, he was based in Mannheim.
New Sumo website launched
British cultivation, drill and seeding business, Sumo, has launched a new website showcasing its range of machines. The new webpage allows potential farmer customers to very quickly identify how each machine will fit into an existing farming system, according to the company. Sumo dealers get their own section, with a map showing stockists on a regional basis.
