Chris Tansey from Swinford, Co Mayo, and Tommy Durr from Ballinagard, Co Roscommon, won €42,000 and €33,000 on Winning Streak last weekend.
Both are suckler farmers that received Winning Streak scratch cards as gifts when they were discharged from hospital after having their hips replaced.
Chris, who was watching the show with his wife Irene and granddaughter Shauna when his name came out a fortnight ago, said he has been “drowning in phone calls, good luck cards, letters, messages and good wishes" and he has been on cloud nine all week.
Surgery
His two sons have been helping him on the farm since his surgery.
Tommy had just returned home from mass and had made a cup of tea when he tuned into Winning Streak two weeks ago.
Despite never buying a scratch card, he is still a huge fan of the show.
He plans to use his winnings to look after his family and take a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina later in the year with a group from his parish.
