Operating at the higher end of the quality scale has meant he has developed a name for producing top-quality heifers suitable for both commercial farmers and specialist fatstock producers.
Over 50 top-quality continental in-calf heifers will go under the hammer on Friday at 7pm in Elphin Mart, Co Roscommon.
Last year’s average price for 49 heifers was €2,459 and given the trade for in-calf heifers around the country in autumn 2020, this year’s average will likely surpass last year’s figure.
This year’s 50 heifers are all in-calf to calve from mid-November to mid-January. All heifers are in-calf to easy-calving Limousin bulls EBY, Lodge Hamlet and Queenshead Altea.
