Met Éireann has issued its second status orange weather warning in as many days, this time for counties Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan. The area is set to be hit by spells of snow and ice this Wednesday evening.

The warning will come into effect at 6pm until midday on Thursday. Persistent and heavy snowfall is expected overnight, with potential disruption to transport and power supply.
The UK Met Office has issued a less sever status yellow snow warning for Northern Ireland from 6pm on Wednesday until 6am on Thursday.
The warnings come as an Atlantic depression is set to bring scattered snow showers to northern parts of the country.
