Monday

Monday morning will be cold with ice and frost on surfaces according to Met Éireann. Sunny spells will develop later with scattered wintry showers, mainly in the west and north.

Most of the showers will die out during the afternoon. Heavy rain will follow along Atlantic coasts by evening. Highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Heavy rain will spread to all areas on Monday night with local flooding together with strong winds.

The rain may turn to sleet or snow on higher ground.

After midnight the rain will turn to wintry showers.

Lowest temperatures between -1 and +3 degrees with some frost and icy patches.

Tuesday

There will be sunshine and scattered showers on Tuesday morning, some still wintry. It will become largely dry in the afternoon.

With highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.

On Tuesday night, frost will develop for a time under clear skies. However rain will break out later in the night clearing any frost. It will become windy, with gales along coasts.

Lowest temperatures will be -1 to +2 degrees early on but temperatures will rise as rain develops.

Wednesday

Wednesday will start wet and windy but rain will soon clear to scattered showers with some sunny spells.

Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees. Showers will become isolated on Wednesday night with a few wintry ones. Lowest temperatures between 1 and 3 degrees with a slight frost.

Outlook

Thursday will be a sunny but breezy day with scattered showers and some will turn wintry once again.

Wintry showers will continue on Thursday night, most frequent in the west and north and just isolated in the east.

Friday will see sunny spells and showers, again most frequent in the west and north, and possibly turning into longer spells of rain.

Met Éireann are predicting less cold weather next weekend, however it will be highly changeable.
