Young Farmer Scheme and National Reserve payments have started to issue to farmers enrolled in the schemes.

Payments under both schemes issue under the Basic Payment Scheme and in total to date under the BPS, some €1.128bn has been paid out as of Friday 8 December, according to Department of Agriculture figures.

This equates to 121,380 farmers being paid to date, out of an eligible 123,284.

A breakdown of payments under the Young Farmer Scheme and the National Reserve was not available at the time of writing.

Some 1,330 farmers applied to the 2017 National Reserve and there were 9,950 applications to the 2017 Young Farmer Scheme.
