A long-running cattle rearing effort, bringing together local farmers and businesses, will culminate in a mart sale to support a local injured man in Co Cork this month.
The sale will take place at Kanturk Co-op Mart. \ Donal O'Leary

Over 50 weanlings will go under the hammer at Kanturk Mart on 23 March at 7pm, to raise funds for local young man Rickie Healy, who is entering rehab treatment after a spinal injury.
Each weanling was bought by a company, including many agribusinesses, while a local farmer volunteered to rear it until the sale. This leaves 100% of the proceeds of the sale to go to the appeal for Rickie Healy. Organiser Caroline O’Connell told The Dealer the selection of quality Limousin, Aberdeen Angus and Charolais had been hand-picked by experts and reared by top-class farmers.
