Dog display

With few things better than a loyal dog, a man’s best friend takes the spotlight at this year’s Tullamore Show.

With over 15 different classes throughout the day, there is sure to be something to captivate and amaze.

Including obedience and fancy dress, watch the cream of the crop strut their stuff to compete for the coveted red ribbon.

Take some time to stop by one of several displays of dog agility. A guarantee for an entertainment factor, watch these prime pooches and their handlers sink or swim as they duck and dive through obstacles on a more-than-testing course.

Take a trip to the sheepdog trials to witness the strength of bond between a farmer and his companion.

Handlers will put their working collies to the test as they navigate four sheep through a complex obstacle course, all while attempting to save seconds and avoid penalties.

Vintage

Travel back in time to remember how things were at the vintage display this August. From high nellies to Massey Fergusons, there is something to please the eye for all who attend.

Innovation at the height of history, these machines have lasted the test of time and will be on show for all to enjoy on the day.

With not only one, but two steam engines present, the showing area is sure to be a hive of activity.

Be it from vintage or otherwise, examine implements and delve into the culture behind the Ireland of years gone by.

Food fair

Representing the very best of local and regional artisan food and baking, how could you stray too far from the door of the food fair?

Dabble in delectable decadence with a tremendous selection of mouth-watering, bespoke culinary produce to sample, view and purchase.

Sweet and savoury are the specials of the day with cheese, conserves, chocolates and much more decking the halls of the fair.

Experience the flavours first hand and support local businesses all while satisfying every craving and taste bud. Drop by and fill up on all of the goodness that the food fair has to offer.

Workshops

A new and thriving addition to the Tullamore Show, the talks, tips and hints indoor workshops are a favourite among visitors.

Designed to equip, the workshops bring together visitors and competitors, giving them an opportunity to network and share ideas and inspirations.

Having doubled their speakers this year to 14, the workshops have something to suit everyone.

Develop your eye for snapping the perfect photograph and the detail in framing it. Flounder over flower arranging, picking up tips for an aesthetic touch.

Expect to see some familiar faces including the Odlums Lady, Catherine Leyden. Drop into the tent on 13 August and see what wholesome goods you can pick up and enjoy.

Cooking

Explore the flavour sensations that the cookery demonstration tent has to offer.

Take the weight off your feet for a few moments to enjoy taste and tipple among great company, with celebrity chef Neven Maguire taking the helm of all things foodie.

Dishing out the latest in aromas, Neven is on hand to give live demonstrations of beloved meals of Ireland. He will also provide guidance on how best to prepare and present your wonderful creations.
