AAQB clarify NI pricing mechanism

The price paid for Angus cattle to members of the Aberdeen Angus Quality Beef (AAQB) scheme who slaughter cattle for Tesco at Foyle Food Group, is not based on the official England and Wales R4L beef price as reported last week.

A spokesperson for AAQB advised that Foyle Food Group base the price on what it pays for R grades at its factories in England (Gloucester and Melton Mowbray). The maximum Tesco UK AA Scheme bonus is 30p/kg.
