Shares in FBD Insurance have dropped 3% in the last week to €8.82 as the company holds its 2019 AGM on Friday.

At the company’s AGM, shareholders in FBD will approve a dividend of 50c/share, which is more than double the dividend paid out the previous year.

This will see the insurance group pay out more than €17.4m to shareholders, with the company’s largest shareholder, Farmer Business Developments, set to receive €4.3m in dividends thanks to its 24% stake in the company.

Other shares

Of the other listed agribusiness plcs, shares in Glanbia dropped below €16 this week. Glanbia shares are now down more than 5% since the start of 2019. Shares in Aryzta have slumped more than 10% this week back to €1.23, while shares in French dairy group Danone are down more than 3% to €69.50.

Shares in Kerry Group continue to hold above €101 this week. On oil markets, the price of Brent crude oil is currently trading at just over $70/barrel.
