Agricultural contractors can continue to work on farms without restrictions despite Friday’s announcement from the Government on increased coronavirus restrictions.

The Association of Farm and Forestry Contractors in Ireland (FCI) said that the Department of Agriculture confirmed to FCI that “farm contractors can continue work on farms without restrictions”.

It has asked contractors to follow the HSE advice on personal safety, with more updates to come.

“The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine included farm contractors on the list of essential services to the Taoiseach’s office and the HSE earlier this week at the request of FCI.

“Stay working and stay safe, unless told otherwise, we will keep you updated,” the FCI said.
