The popularity of central tyre inflation systems continues to grow in areas of the continent, yet aside from a share of Fendt Variogrip systems in Ireland, very few are working here, especially in retrofit systems. Float Control is a Dutch designed system, designed one and a half years ago, with more than 200 systems built to date.
The beauty of this system is that all valves and relays, etc, are packaged in a neat box. They use the tractor’s own compressor for inflating/deflating the tyres, but the option is there to opt for an external compressor system. It can be fitted to the tractor’s standard rims.
The Flow Control system comes in two levels of spec – basic and advanced. The basic option is a manually operated control unit, with the valves positioned outside the back window for tyre inflation/deflation. It’s priced at €3,250, excluding fitting.
The Advanced package can be plugged into the tractor’s IsoBus terminal or if it doesn’t have one, it can operated via a dedicated Topcon terminal.
Here, all adjustments are made in-cab. This unit is priced at €6,250, excluding fitting. The system can also be purchased fitted within a tractor bumper.
