I see the Taoiseach was in Berlin for a meeting with new German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for a working lunch and private meeting.

Word got back to me that the main course consisted of Friesian ox roast beef with salted blueberries. How dairy, I thought.

Was this a smart move on behalf of Micheál Martin to bolster demand for Irish dairy beef in Germany or were the Germans hinting that they would be open to taking much more beef from our dairy herd in future? One wonders.
