According to Eblex's Cattle and Sheep Market Update, Brazilian beef exports moved up again in 2014.

Regaining its position as the largest beef exporter in the world in 2013, Brazilian exports moved up again last year to 1.23 million tonnes.

The market for Brazilian beef has mainly been supported by Russia, which is the country's main export destination, accounting for one quarter of all shipments. Exports to Russia were up 2% on the year.

Exports to Hong Kong were up 16%, and now represent 20% of Brazilian trade. Shipments to the EU are 4%.

Strong demand for Brazilian beef is likely to be sustained in 2015 due to tight global supplies, demand from Russia and the reopening of the Chinese market
