The bets are off on the name of the next IFA president and Paddy Power has calculated the latest odds, placing livestock chairman Henry Burns in the lead.
Carlow county chairman Derek Deane and outgoing deputy president Tim O’Leary follow closely behind, and all three men leading in the bookie’s ranking have now declared their intention to run for the position. So did rural environment chairman Flor McCarthy, ranked fourth in a group of potential candidates on odds of 7/1.
The odds were calculated before the fifth current declared candidate, poultry chairman Nigel Renaghan, made his intentions known on Monday night.
