A bachelor farmer who won €40,000 on a National Lottery scratchcard has pledged not to tell anyone about his win except his accountant.
The Cavan farmer in his 50s collected his winnings today after buying the winning ticket in Pat’s Store, Main Street, Kingscourt, Co Cavan.
While he has no firm plans yet about what to spend his windfall on, he said he would do “a few renovations around the house”.
He also revealed that he would be keeping schtum and telling nobody about the win.
“The only person I’m telling about this is my accountant!”
