The beautiful Springfield House on 65 acres in Sixmilebridge, Co Clare, sold after auction for a figure believed to be around €1.3m. The attractive Georgian residence, which dates back to 1790, opened its door at auction for €800,000, or €12,300/ac. Four bidders contested the beautiful property as it flew to over €1m. Withdrawn at €1.15m, or €17,700/ac, negotiations continued with the highest bidder after auction. It did not take long before a deal was struck for a price believed to be in the region of €1.3m, or €20,000/ac. The commanding and well-maintained 5,000 sq ft residence would have contributed to this price.

Springfield House in Clare.

The house itself is a super property and according to Tom Crosse of GVM Limerick, is bright and spacious with well-proportioned rooms, many overlooking the beautifully maintained gardens. All bedrooms also have en-suite facilities.

The farm also contains an extensive range of farm buildings and a yard area, as well as 28 loose boxes. The lands are of very good quality and have extensive road frontage onto two roads. It was an executor’s sale and the auction took place in the Limerick City Auction Rooms. The buyers are local.
