Some veterinary practices are asking farmers to ring ahead with their orders to arrange a pickup service and minimise the risk of spreading the coronavirus.
CEO and registrar for the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI), Niamh Muldoon said it was a practical measure that helped to ensure public health advice was followed.
Despite fears of contagion, vets have kept their services available for farmers. “This country is fortunate to have world-class veterinary professionals, and now more than ever their expertise and role in society is increasingly important and valued for the agri-food sector,” Muldoon said.
