The Dairygold board has increased the July milk price by 0.48c/l.
This will give suppliers a base price of 36.84c/l, excluding VAT, based on standard constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat, inclusive of sustainability and quality payments.
Dairygold is also offering a €20/t rebate on bulk mainline dairy and beef feeds, delivered over a three-week period from Monday 17 August to Monday 7 September inclusive.
In addition, a cost effective ‘fodder stretcher feed’ is available to all customers. A reasonable usage policy and terms and conditions apply to the rebate, the co-op said.
Dairygold chair Pat Clancy said from a dairy market perspective, the record heatwaves experienced across Europe have impacted milk supply in the region, with a modest uplift in pricing and sentiment.
“At a global level, there is still a supply overhang in the marketplace, with protein continuing to perform well, while butterfat remains challenged,” he said.
Drought challenges
“Our board is acutely aware of the significant challenges the drought conditions are causing for members, through both additional feed costs and ongoing daily herd management.
“We are offering a €20 per tonne feed rebate, to support members facing ongoing grass growth challenges, to maintain milk production on farm and plan for the months ahead.
“Our advisory and technical teams continue to be available to assess individual farm requirements, provide feed advice and to assist in fodder budgeting for the winter ahead. I’d encourage all farmers to reach out for support and advice,” he said.
