The Ornua monthly purchase price index (PPI) for the month of June is 154.7.
This figure marks the first rise in the index in four months, jumping 1.5 from 153.2 in May which Ornua said reflects “stronger market returns in some product categories for the month of June”.
Ornua’s estimate of member co-ops processing costs has remained steady at 9.6c/l.

After deducting estimated processing costs, Ornua’s PPI implies an indicative return of 43.3c/l, excluding VAT, for milk of 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein. This is up from 42.82c/l, excluding VAT, in May.
In addition, the Ornua value payment payable to member co-ops in the month is €10.7m, which equated to 3.7% of gross purchases in the month.
