Kerry Dairy Ireland has revealed that it has dropped its milk prices for supplies in May by 0.38c/l, excluding VAT.

Kerry’s May milk price for standard constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% buttermilk is 47.6c/l, including quality and sustainability bonuses but excluding VAT.

This marks the co-ops fourth consecutive decrease in its milk price form when it was 50.9c/l, excluding VAT, for January milk.

However, Kerry still remains ahead of Dairygold, who announced a decrease to its milk price, and Lakeland Dairies, who are increased its milk price from the previous month.

A spokesperson for Kerry Dairy Ireland said: “On the supply side, global milk production has grown this year and is expected to maintain a similar trajectory in the months ahead.

“Strong demand has supported relative market stability; however, rising commodity prices are beginning to filter through to retail, which may result in increased pressure on consumer demand.”
