The vice-chair of Arrabawn, Edward Carr, has been elected as chairperson of the co-op at a board meeting this week. Outgoing chair Sean Monaghan (in the position for the last four years) did not seek re-election.
Carr milks 170 cows near Kilcommon, above Upperchurch, on an elevated farm at Milestone, Co Tipperary. He is a former winner of the Irish Farmers Journal Development Farmer of the Year competition.
Arrabawn has about 1,000 milk suppliers over a wide geographical distance and processes about 380m litres of milk annually.
