Delaney, an agribusiness consultant and dairy farmer, previously held senior roles at Glanbia and the Irish Farmers Journal, and currently serves on the board of Bord Bia. She is also a Nuffield scholar and former Agricultural Science Association president. She takes over the DRI chair from Jim Beecher, former assistant secretary at the Department of Agriculture, who held the position since 2010.
