Purcell Brothers has begun buying Friesian bulls for a contract to Libya.
The firm is buying bulls in the weight range of 200kg to 400kg. The bulls will go for further feeding and finishing on Libyan farms and feedlots. The consignment is due to be shipped in mid-September from Waterford.
Purcell Brothers will shortly start buying young bulls suitable for export to Turkey later in the autumn. The firm has signed a contract with a private livestock importer. The stock will go for further feeding and finishing on Turkish farms. The importer has obtained an import licence from the relevant authorities in Turkey.
