The IFA has proposed a PTO scrappage programme to ensure old and dangerous PTOs are replaced.

Commitments on the Fair Deal Scheme included in the programme for government must be delivered on, the IFA has told the Government. It wants to see the Nursing Home Support Scheme Bill reintroduced immediately to ensure families are supported if home care for an elderly farmer or relative is no longer possible.
The inclusion of farmland leased to third parties must also be provided for, in line with other Government policy on inheritance under agricultural relief, the IFA says.
