D & S Machinery imports and distributes the Landini and McCormick brands of tractors in Ireland. At the FTMTA Grass & Muck 2014, D & S will launch the new Landini and McCormick models in the 130 to 200hp range.

It will also be the first time that the firm will exhibit the Sonalika range of tractors, which has recently been added to its portfolio.

New high-power Landini and McCormick models

The new Landini 6-series and 7-series and McCormick X7-series tractors, with new Tier 4i engines and ZF transmissions, demonstrate both brands’ commitment to competing in the 130hp to 200hp sectors.

Both these Argo Tractor brands offer three four-cylinder models (structural engines) up to 175hp, followed by three big six-cylinder models with chassis-mounted engines up to 212hp. All are equipped with the FPT NEF Tier 4i common rail engines which deliver low fuel consumption thanks to the new SCR technology with AdBlue.

All models share the same new ZF transmission, which has a hydraulic reverse shuttle with adjustable modulation. The 24x24 well-spaced speeds provide a good working range.

Each range gear is a push-button shift and is done using the exclusive-range shift mechanism developed by ZF for Argo Tractors.

The multi-function joystick and armrest control are near to hand for ease of operation. A creeper option may be installed, increasing the overall number of speeds to 40F and 40R.

All models in the new Landini 6-series and 7-series and McCormick X7-series feature the load-sensing hydraulic system, with up to 167 litres/min. The steering and lubrication circuits are supplied from dedicated pumps. They have an impressive 9,300kg lift capacity. They feature a four-speed PTO as standard, which includes 540, 540E, 1,000 and 1,000E. This new PTO offers an adjustable modulated implement start-up. These models are further complemented by new and more spacious built-in cab designs.

First show for Sonalika tractors

Livestock farmers who visit this year’s Grass & Muck event will also get to see the Sonalika range of tractors. D & S Machinery will initially focus on two models from this Indian manufacturer, namely the Solis 75 and Solis 90.

The Solis tractors are available as 2WD or 4WD and are fitted with their own 4.1-litre four-cylinder engine. Both models feature synchromesh transmission with 12F x 12R manual speeds. This manoeuvrable tractor has a small turning circle that allows you to work in the tightest of spaces. Operators can enjoy panoramic vision from the spacious six-post cab, with a large rear window and opening side windows.

This range of tractors will offer more choice to Irish farmers in the sub-100hp tractor sector. The Solis 75 and Solis 90 are suitable front-loader tractors and will come with Dromone pick-up hitches as standard.
