The multi-award-winning Connemara Smokehouse has received an exclusive French award. Each year the Guides des Gourmands, a guide for professional and private food enthusiasts in France, gives 12 Coq d’Or awards to top producers, restaurateurs and delicatessens. Connemara Smokehouse received one of only two international Coq d’Or, which normally stay within France.
Connemara Smokehouse is an award-winning fish smoker that was founded in 1979. Connemara Smokehouse products can be purchased online at www.smokehouse.ie, in some local shops or at the smokehouse in their factory shop.

If you are in the festive spirit, head along to the Abbey Hotel, Donegal, for A Little Taste of Christmas.On the 30 November and the 1 December, from 11am to 6.30pm, exhibitors will showcase a range of Christmas gift ideas. Enjoy food and drink while chefs Brian McDermott and Gary O’Hanlon give seasonal cooking demonstrations. There will also be plenty of kids entertainment, such as face painting and puppet shows. The official switching on of Donegal’s Christmas lights takes place in the diamond at 7.30pm.
