Former chief veterinary officer for the Scottish Government, Professor Charles Milne will join the QMS board on 1 April.

After studying at the Royal Veterinary College in London, Milne worked in both private vet practices and for the State Veterinary Service in Perth. More recently Milne was director of Food Standards Agency Scotland, before heading to chief veterinary officer at Victoria, Australia, in 2014.

Professor Milne will take up the role on 1 April 2019, joining three other new board members: Gordon Wallace, who also joins on 1 April, along with Andy McGowan and Ann Irvine, who took up their posts in October 2018.

Professor Milne’s appointment is for four years from 1 April 2019 until 31 March 2023. Members of the QMS board receive a fee of £180/day for a time commitment of 20 days/year.
