Four 16ft gates, worth €900, and a full tank of diesel has been stolen from a Limerick farmer.

Croom farmer Louise Crowley told the Irish Farmers Journal that the thefts happened between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning on an outfarm in Meanus.

“Ourselves and another farmer had gates stolen. We had four 16ft gates worth €900 stolen and diesel siphoned from the tractor in the yard. It’s at least €60 worth.

“My neighbour had six gates stolen. I’ve contacted the gardaí,” she said.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Farmers Journal that gardaí in Croom are investigating the alleged theft of four galvanised gates and a sum of diesel.

“Investigation is ongoing. Gardaí in Croom are appealing to anyone with information to contact them on 061 397240.”
