Glanbia Co-op has confirmed that Wexford farmer John G Murphy has been appointed as chair. Pat Murphy has been reconfirmed as vice-chair, while Brendan Hayes has been appointed to the position of vice-chair in place of John G Murphy.
Speaking on his appointment as chair, John G Murphy said: “I am honoured to be appointed to serve as chair of Glanbia Co-operative Society. I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of co-op members and build on the strong foundations that have been established over many decades. On behalf of Glanbia co-op, I would also like to thank the outgoing chair Martin Keane for his commitment and dedication to his role as chair for the last two years.”
The newly elected chair was appointed to the position of vice-chair on 2 June 2017. He was appointed to the board on 29 June 2010, and is also vice-chair of the National Dairy Council board. He has completed the University College Cork Diploma in Corporate Direction. He farms at Ballinacoola, Craanford, Gorey, Co Wexford.
