Glanbia co-op will run a trading bonus scheme for farmers in 2019. It will closely mirror the 2018 scheme, which delivered almost €14m to farmers. The money, which is to be paid in February, is part of the co-op’s dividend from Glanbia Ireland.

The scheme again rewards milk suppliers who trade with Glanbia for feed, fertiliser, and indeed all purchases from Glanbia.

Farmers will receive from 0.1c/l up to a maximum of 0.75c/l on every litre of milk delivered, depending on the value of their trade.

The top 0.75c/l bonus applies where farmers record more than 7c of trade for every litre of milk delivered. For a 500,000l supplier this would equate to €3,750.

For non-dairy co-op members, the trading scheme is worth €10/t for sheep and beef rations, with €3/t for pig ration and straights. Purchasing group members are eligible for the bonus at half rate.
