The two and a half year old Hereford bull was tapped forward by judge Robert Alwyn as the best animal on show from the 15 champions present. Owned and bred by the Livesey family in Leicestershire, Leartes is no stranger to success. Along with his Interbreed win from the Highland last month he also claimed supreme calf champion at the National calf show two years ago. Sired by Romany 1 Distiller he is out of past past female of the year Normanton 1 Jews Ear C21.

Not far behind and claiming the reserve Interbreed sash was the Simmental champion Popes Princess Cleo. This February 2011 cow was brought out by breeders J H & V G Wood. Sired by Banwy Wonderboy this one is from homebred dam Popes Nellys Princess.

In the shorthorn ring it was also the senior female who came up trumps. Six year old Hannington Dolly cught judge Andy Ryders eye when it came to the championship line up. Exhibited by Richard Bartle and Mary Cormack Dolly has already claimed a reserve breed championship at the Three counties show. Hannington bred on both sides she ws shown with her April heifer calf at foot.

This was continued form from the duo who earlier in the day secured the female championship in the Limousin ring. Again a cow with calf at foot this one went by the name Trueman Grazia who was purchased from the savage family in Northern Ireland back in 2012 for 14,000gns.

Topping the Limousin breed was the senior bull Tunnelby Inca from Miss Jessica Simms. The three year old Inca was bred from a homebred dam while the sire was Hafodlas Abel.

In the Angus ring it was Glympton farms who took top honours with their senior stock bull Glympton Glespin. Sired by former stock bull Rawburn Rock Solid who later sold to Ireland, Glepsin is no stranger to success having secured the overall championship at the Welsh two years ago also.

Young heifer Rhymil Kylie came beat off stiff competition to come out on top in the Belgian Blue ring. This very stylish February 2015 heifer was brought out by Rhys Millichap and is out of Ai sire Gitan Du P’Tit.

French bred Idefix was judge David Grants choice in the Blonde ring. Exhibited by Paul Thomas, the three year old stock bull is sired by Uvay. Onto the Salers and it was again a Fench import who claimed the top spot. This time Alun Jones with his 2008 born Etna. Imported three years ago the herd stock bull collecter a number of interbreeds last year and todays win marks his first day out of the season.

In the Devon cattle ring the Phillips family had their day with their three year old Colleton Marion. Homebred on both sides she was tapped forward by judge John May. In the small entry of Brithish White cattle Bulby Jasmine proved successful. Sired by Wispers Brutus the five year old was shown by Mr Mark Kennett.

One of the last breeds to go through the rings for judging was the Longhorn cattle. The oldest bull on show was the pick, with Gupworthy Onzlo securing the championship sash. Bred by George Woollatt the March 2014 bull is sired by Blackbrook Pagan.
