The deadline for applications to the latest TAMS tranche has been extended by two weeks, the Department of Agriculture has announced.
The tranche was due to close this Friday, 7 August, but farmers will now have until midnight on Friday 21 August to submit an application under tranche 18 of the farm investment scheme.
As it stands, the additional fortnight is the last definite opportunity farmers will have to apply for funding.
The Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS) provide grants to farmers to build and/or improve farm buildings and equipment.

Farmers and planners are still awaiting a decision from the Department on the next TAMS tranche. The scheme is due to finish at the end of this year, however, there is no confirmation as to whether a nineteenth tranche will be opened.
Due to COVID-19 there was a delay in completing applications, this resulted in an extension to the previous tranche, with 5,000 farmers submitting applications for funding.
This was the highest number of applications submitted to a single tranche and demand has remained high as farmers race to submit applications before the closure of the scheme.
