DEAR SIR: The percentage of cross-bred Jersey cows in dairy herds is relatively small.
But I feel it is unjust that the Department of Agriculture should count a Jersey cross-bred cow as a unit the same as a bigger Holstein cow.
Surely a bigger cow generates more nitrates and methane (milk) than a smaller cross-bred Jersey cow?
