Episode three of Food Island, a limited-series podcast on the past, present and future of Irish food and agriculture, is now live.

This episode is entitled 'A taste of independence' and takes listeners on a journey back to the early days and decades following Irish independence.

During this time, the political and social shifts taking place had a profound effect on Irish food and agriculture.

Host Janine Kennedy speaks with former Irish Farmers Journal editor Matt Dempsey, independent food and tourism activist John Mulcahy and also pays a visit to the garage at the Agricultural History Museum in Co Wexford, where a group of retied volunteers spend each Tuesday fixing up old cars, tractors and machinery.
