Earlier this year we brought you coverage of the first John Deere 6230R and 6250R tractors in Ireland with the CommandPRO joystick, which up to now were the only models with this option available. However, John Deere has recently announced that the CommandPRO joystick, in combination with John Deere’s AutoPowr transmission, is now available for the entire 6R tractor series.
The CommandPRO joystick is fitted with 11 reconfigurable buttons. These buttons can be used for the following: front/rear hitch, front/rear PTO, SCVs, iTEC, AutoTrac, Isobus functions and to set engine speed.
The CommandPRO joystick allows for top and zero speed simply with one push or pull of the joystick, with creeping control from 0km/h to 2km/h. It also provides the option of simultaneous pedal and joystick driving while the Active Zero function keeps the output speed actively at 0km/h until the command for acceleration is given.

The settings manager in the tractor’s command centre reduces the setup time for all your different applications. It allows you to save all your machine settings as well as configuration settings for the Command Pro joystick and electrical joystick. This allows the operator to instantly recall individual settings for saved implements.
From our experience with the 6250R, fitted with the CommandPRO joystick earlier this year, we found it to be a user-friendly operating system.
