Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for Ireland. The alert will take effect from midnight on Sunday 18 October.
Persistent and occasionally heavy bands of rain will cross the country beginning on Sunday night through to Tuesday evening.
While some areas will remain below warning levels, there is a risk of localised spot flooding with a heightened risk of flash flooding in mountainous regions where accumulations are expected to be highest.

The alert is valid until 5pm Tuesday 20 October.

Meanwhile, the UK Met Office has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry. The alert is valid from 5am Monday 19 October.
Heavy rain may cause some travel disruption and flooding.
