Across most processors, the prices paid to 1m litre suppliers for September milk are now at their highest point in 10 months.

The 1m litre prices in Table A are compared across high, average and low solids milk, with the parameters for each quality shown in Table 1 on the opposite page. Milk qualities are all up significantly when compared to our August league, in line with actual milk test results sent to us by processors. It is also important to note that both TBC and SCC are fixed in the 1m litre comparison at 15 and 165 respectively.

For high solids milk, Tirlán/Fivemiletown paid a leading price of 40.22p/l in September, up 2.3p/l on the previous month - it is the first time we have recorded a price of over 40p/l since November 2025.

Tirlán also leads across average and low solids milk, with Dale Farm in second. Aurivo is third across all three milk qualities, with its position boosted by the bonuses it pays for low TBC and SCC milk.

At the bottom of the table, Leprino is ahead of Lakeland Dairies as it pays a 0.65p/l volume bonus to 1m litre suppliers, while all three qualities meet the requirements for its 0.75p/l Mozzarella bonus.

Rolling average

The rolling average prices paid over the last 12 months to 1m litre suppliers are shown in Table B.

Having led our main milk league analysis for 10 of the last 11 months, it is no surprise that Tirlán has the highest rolling prices across all three milk qualities.

There are some positional changes at the bottom of the table, with Strathroy now ahead of Lakeland, leaving NI’s largest milk processor sixth across all three milk qualities.

Those rolling prices have been steadily heading downwards since August 2025, however, that trend should be halted in our next league analysis, when October 2026 prices should be higher than what was paid in October 2025.
