Ulster Wool has announced that the average price paid for the 2025 clip will be 68p/kg, which is up 70% or 28p/kg on the year previous. The average payout is now at a 10-year high and the co-op is optimistic for further upward momentum into the 2026 auction season.
“This is a strong result for our members and a clear sign the market is moving in the right direction,” said Ulster Wool chairman Brendan Kelly.
“Prices are up across all wool types because there is real competition at auction, and that only happens when farmers sell together through Ulster Wool,” he added.
