Eighteen lots went for auction in the dispersal of the Coose Dutch Spotted flock, held through Harrison and Hetherington via the MartEye platform over the weekend. Owned by Ronan Tuohy in Co Clare, the online auction gave buyers access to 18 lots of sheep, comprising the flocks entire breeding lines which have been built up over recent years.

Setting the tone early on was the first lot to close, Coose Jukebox, trading for the highest price of £4,550 (€5,327). This super ram lamb is sired by the impressive Milltown I-Fried and out of Coose Goldstar, dam of the €3,000 Coose I-Spy. Securing Jukebox for their well-established Milltown flock in Co Down was Messrs Jackson.

The same flock also purchased the next highest priced lot, Coose Jellybean, a ewe lamb sired by Milltown I-Fried and out of Broadwater Gina. Just over three months old, this stunning young lamb sold for £2,450 (€2,868).

Following closely behind at £2,250 (€2,634) was her dam, the stock ewe Broadwater Gina. This March 2023-born daughter of Craigdoo Feeling Fine and Greenfield Delilah will now join Messrs Johnstons’ fold in Co Antrim.

A flock in Co Cavan then purchased Coose Gold Star at £1,950 (€2,283), a stock ewe sired by Dutch Destroyer. Born in February 2023, she is the dam of Coose I-Spy and is a full sister to the 2023 premier sale champion.
