The Irish Montbeliarde Society had two trips to France up for grabs at the Ploughing Championship in Co Laois, kindly sponsored by Coopex and Jura Betail.
The prizewinners were Suzanne Greally, Lismullen, Tara, Co Meath, who is off to the Coopex Expo Montbeliarde Show in February and Eamonn O’Shea, Ballinabanogue, New Ross, Co Wexford, who won a trip to the Jura Betail Show in March.
The society reports strong interest in the breed and is looking for pedigree registered in-calf heifers for a number of customers.
As an incentive to encourage former and new clients to register their stock, the society is offering first heifer registration free in the coming year. Membership is €60.
