PCN is now spreading into farms and regions where it had not previously been seen.

Farmers and growers are able to utilise a newly published guide which sets out how to test for Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN), a pest which costs the industry over £25m every year.
The publication, PCN: Sampling and laboratory guide, was launched by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) Potatoes earlier this week.
The guide draws on AHDB funded the research, which was conducted by Science and Advice for Scottish Agriculture (SASA) and BioSS, measuring the effectiveness of soil sampling techniques ahead of PCN testing.

It follows on from recent data which found PCN to be moving into areas and fields in which they have not been previously found.
The publication is available to download from potatoes.ahdb.org.uk/PCN.
