Lamb prices have been on the rise over the past two weeks, with buying in full swing ahead of the Muslim festival Eid al-Adha. Factories have increased prices by 10c/kg to 15c/kg.

Farmers are now securing €5.10/kg for factory lambs freely with producer groups securing up to €5.20/kg at the top of the market.

Live exporters have also been active in marts and are buying directly off farmers to secure select lots of fleshed ram lambs. In the marts, factory-fit lambs weighing 45kg to 49kg are selling from €95 to €108/head, while heavy lambs are making up to €110/head.
