New Holland has just launched a new hybrid twin-rotor combine. The CH7.70 creates a new segment between mid-range conventional CX combines and flagship rotary CR machines.

The Crossover Harvesting concept sits as a hybrid machine, integrating twin-rotor and conventional threshing technologies. Up to 25% higher throughput is claimed in comparison to conventional machines in this segment. The CH7.70 is powered by a 374hp Cursor 9 Stage V engine.

The new model features a two-drum threshing system with a reinforced, heavy-duty 600mm diameter drum. The large drum and sectional concave allows for a quick crop changeover in less than 20 minutes, the company says.

Drum speed is controlled using a heavy-duty hydraulic variator. The threshing system also features New Holland’s Opti-Thresh system which adapts to crop conditions by repositioning the rear part of the concave.

The threshing system in the new CH7.70 benefits from twin rotor and conventional threshing technologies.

Building on 45 years of twin-rotor separation, the 21in diameter 3.45m long rotors provide 2.9m2 of separation. Cleaning on the CH7.70 is provided by the Triple-Clean cascaded cleaning system which claims an increased capacity of up to 15%. Grain is transferred to the elevator using a double-flight cross auger.

The SmartSieve system automatically compensates for side slopes up to 25% for uniform cleaning. The Opti-Fan system automatically compensates for fluctuating grain speed across the cleaning shoe when the machine is working on slopes. The Laterale version provides transversal slope correction of up to 18% on both sides.

A range of Varifeed headers are available up to 9.15m, including a brand new 8.53m Varifeed developed specifically for the Crossover range.
