Specialising in feed and forage equipment, Enegis Ltd is the Irish and UK importer of the Belgian VDW feeding and mixing equipment ranges. VDW recently launched its mounted range of mini diet feeders.

These vertical twin-auger machines are said to offer much the same features of a typical trailed tub feeder only in a compact form. The five-model range offers machines with capacities from 1.9m3 to 3.5m3. Models can be specified for use on loaders or three-point linkage. The loader models are hydraulically operated while the three-point linkage versions are PTO-driven.

The VDW mini mounted diet feeder starts at €10,980 plus VAT

The manufacturer says the mini diet feeder is capable of mixing and chopping baled silage, straw and root crops. A number of options can be opted for on these compact machines, even for users requiring a self-loading solution.

On self-loading models, the tub hydraulically tilts for loading where it is loaded with the chosen attachment.

Other options available include hard-wearing cobranox augers

Loading attachments include a shear grab, grapple or a rotating defacer similar to that fitted on self-propelled diet feeders. A root chopper can also be specified which sits on either of the feed-out doors for chopping beet and the likes.

Other options available include hard-wearing cobranox augers as well as magnets to catch unwanted metal that may have ended up in the silage or feed ingredients.

While Enegis deals directly with customers for the south of Ireland, McMullan Agri based in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, has recently been appointed as the dealer covering the north of Ireland. Prices for the VDW mini diet feeder start at €10,980 plus VAT.
