Although Alpler is an unknown name in Ireland, the Turkish-based brand is ready to hit the Irish machinery trade, and what better way to do so than at the National Ploughing Championships.

According to the firm, it has been producing cultivation and crop-bed preparation equipment as far back as 1926. It has grown from a small workshop, to a company that employs over 400 personnel at its manufacturing facility in Aydin, Turkey.

The product range includes ploughs, disc cultivators, tine cultivators, hay and forage equipment, fertiliser spreaders and sprayers. According to Alpler, there are up to 400 sub-products across each of the mentioned equipment types. To date, the Turkish-built equipment is exported to more than 70 countries.

Alpler’s stand at this year’s Ploughing will feature its heavy-duty ploughs and trailed fertiliser spreaders along with disc and tine-type cultivators. Ploughs can be seen working in the demonstration areas.

Reversible plough

The reversible plough range is available in both mechanical and hydraulic adjustable width variants. The plough’s frame is constructed using a box section, with three variants offered: standard, light and heavy-duty models, which are fitted with a 140mm x 140mm box section for added strength. Alpler is offering several optional parts, such as different depth wheels, reversible shares and disc coulters, along with multiple mouldboard options set to be offered.

Trailed spreader

Two trailed spreaders are offered, a 7.5m3 (KGSM 7) and a 12.5m3 (KGSM 12) machine, the smaller of the two capable of carrying 6t of fertiliser (8.4t lime) and the latter capable of carrying 10.5t of fertiliser (14.7t lime). The spreader’s discs are hydraulically driven, meaning they are compatible with most GPS systems, we have been told. Both the spreading deck and all wearing parts are manufactured from stainless steel. Alpler load cells are also fitted to the spreaders.

The floor in the smaller spreader is wheel-driven, meaning its speed is proportional to the tractor’s forward speed.

The larger of the two spreaders comes with a hydraulically driven floor.

According to a spokesperson for the brand, there will be some introductory prices. The larger KGSM12 model will be priced at €25,000 plus VAT.
