Milk price was not the only issue troubling the co-op boards across the south during the week.

While the various dairy processors with catchments from Roscrea to Rosscarbery are under savage supplier pressure to hold milk prices this week, the thorny and time sensitive issue of All-Ireland hurling final tickets has also to be addressed.

The ticket hunt for this weekend’s novel clash of Cork and Tipperary has gone into overdrive.

With hurling mania engulfing the two counties, anybody with the remotest chance of nailing a ticket for Sunday is being hounded.

“I got twice as many calls about hurling tickets this week than I did about milk,” one co-op board member told The Dealer.

“And everybody knows that I know nothing about hurling,” he added.
